Make Your Own Bandana or Paint a Silk Scarf - Workshops at Your Venue

 My textile painting workshops are suitable for everyone regardless of their experience. Everyone will take home a successful and beautiful project. Suggestions and ideas from hosting venues are always welcome.

Bouncing Ball on Cotton

Ages: children 5+, teens and adults - up to 22 participants

Perfect for young children! This is a fascinating project, draw on cotton fabric, add the alcohol/vinegar blend and watch the magic happen! During this workshop we will experiment with designing and blending permanent markers with rubbing alcohol and vinegar creating a watercolor effect. Each participant will use a variety of permanent markers and recycled objects to make their own colorful creation and while still wet, the work may be taken home at the end of the workshop. The material has to dry overnight and it will need to be ironed or placed in a hot dryer for the colors to completely set. The fabric is 100% cotton and measure 15” x 15”. A caregiver must be hands-on and actively involved with each child under the age of 10 to help with the project. We will be using waterproof permanent markers so bring an old shirt to protect your clothing.

Venue Requirements

Volunteer/assistant from the venue

One table for the artist and tables and chairs for participants.

Each participant will need approximately 2 feet of table space to work on this project.

I will bring everything else!

Pricing and Other Details

Audience size: 22 participants max - 60 min. program (plus 45 min. set-up & 30 min. clean-up)

Fee for the first 15 participants including all materials____$299 +mileage (see below)

Extra participants up to 22 will be charged $6 for each participant present and making a project.

Same day/location program: ask for discounted price

** If you would like to register more than 22 participants, there is an additional $50 charge to have a second lead teacher on site. With 2 teachers there is a maximum of 40 students.

Travel Fee: $0.60/mile - Mileage discounts are available for multiple workshops in the same area. The travel fee is capped at $125 for most programs.

Scrunch-Painting a Silk Scarf

Ages: teens and adults - up to 22 participants

60 min. Workshop  -  Kits available for purchase

Ideal for the beginner, no experience necessary - We will discuss colors and how to blend them in a successful manner using a permanent, high chroma, highly transparent liquid fabric paint. Instructions will be given for a step by step “tie dye style” creative process and each participant will go home with a beautiful, wearable creation. At the end of the workshop each participant will take home their scarf and allow it to dry overnight. Once the piece is dry, it can be ironed on the silk setting to permanently set the colors. The scarf is 100% silk with a hand rolled (hand sewn) hem and 8” x 54”.

The participants will need a minimum of 3-4 feet working space. Bring an old shirt to protect your clothing.
